Mires Beck Nursery is a registered charity based in North Cave, East Yorkshire, offering horticultural work experience and training for adults with learning difficulties or disabilities. Operating since 1984 and as a charity since 1994, the nursery supports personal growth and skill development through meaningful horticultural work in a natural setting.

Managing wildflowers production and seed collection
Preparing orders and stock taking
Supervising service users in horticultural tasks
Supporting personal development and well-being of service users
Leading the wildflowers team and participating in training.

Experience in horticulture (preferably with wildflowers/native plants)
Leadership and organisational skills
Passion for supporting individuals with learning difficulties/disabilities
Knowledge of health & safety in horticulture or care

Day to day cultivation and maintenance across all of Clover Hill team’s diverse garden areas. This includes the Winter garden, Courtyard gardens, Birch Grove, Clover Hill, Vegetable garden and Nursery.
Provision of guidance, support and development of students, apprentices and volunteers.
Contribute to the planning, design and delivery of ongoing exciting projects and further developments for the garden in the coming years.
Various nursery duties when required on an ad-hoc basis.
Deliver excellent customer care throughout the garden through interaction with our visitors and members. This will include answering horticultural questions from members and providing advice where we can according to RHS policies

Good general knowledge of ornamental horticulture or relevant garden support service
RHS Level 2 Diploma in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture or equivalent practical experience
Understanding of good customer service in the garden environment
Ability to work as part of a team and someone who enjoys working in a team environment
Relevant practical experience in ornamental horticulture or relevant support service
